Chulu East Peak Climbing route
Chulu East Peak Climbing begins with a long scenic drive from Kathmandu to Chamje. From here, you trek through dense forests and small villages to reach Pisang. The trail gradually ascends to Ngawal village, where you take a day break for acclimatization. Further, the trail climbs to Chulu East Base Camp and then to Chulu East High Camp. Following the lead of your guide, you reach the summit of Chulu East Peak and descend to the base camp through the same path. You then cross challenging Thorong La Pass and spend a night at holy Muktinath Temple. The trail then takes you to Jomsom from where you take a stunning flight back to Pokhara.
Chulu East Peak Climbing difficulty & Altitude Sickness
Chulu East Peak is known as a comparatively easiest peak to climb than the other three Chulu Peaks. However, for beginner climbers, the trail will be tough and challenging. You will be gaining elevation beyond 6,000 meters that can make walking exhausting and increase the chances of altitude sickness. You do not have to worry about altitude sickness as we have designed our Chulu East Peak Climbing itinerary including ample rest days. You have to be in good shape and health to go on this adventurous journey.
Best time to go on Chulu East Peak Climbing
Spring (March to April) and Autumn (October to November) is the most ideal time to go on Chulu East Peak Climbing. The stable weather and moderate climate make the journey pleasant & smooth. Other months of the year are not suitable for climbing Chulu East Peak.
Accommodation & Meals
On Chulu East Peak Climbing, you spend nights in a teahouse in the villages. The teahouse will offer you basic facilities with a double room and shared washroom. Likewise, while climbing, you stay overnight in tented camps carried by our team members. The tents we offer are of high-quality. All the crew members will get a single sleeping tent with a shared washroom and dining tents.
Meals will be served as per the menu of the teahouse. Similarly, our well-trained crew members will cook meals for you during climbing. You will get a variety of meals during climbing. Dishes like rice, curries, veggies, eggs, meat, porridge, pasta, toast, sandwich, soup, dumpling, etc are available. We will make sure you are getting high-calorie meals during the climbing period to maintain your energy.
Communication & Electricity
During the climbing, you will find a cellular network in lower elevation. For a better network, we recommend you to carry a local SIM card. From base camp onwards, your team leader will use a satellite phone to contact the management team in the city to report the situation. Likewise, you can see both hydroelectricity and solar power in the villages. Don't rely on charging batteries and do carry extra batteries with you.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is mandatory to have to join Chulu East Peak Climbing. Your travel insurance must cover things like emergency evacuation, hospital bills, medical bills, flight cancellation, and loss or theft of the property. You have to take out travel insurance from your home country as the Nepal government does not issue it for foreigners. If you fail to present travel insurance, you will not be able to join the trip.
Guide & Porter
You will be guided by professional climbing guides and porters during Chulu East Peak Climbing. Our guides are active climbers with many years of experience in trekking and climbing in the Himalayas. They are well-trained under many different situations like rock climbing, first aid, remote survival, etc. During climbing, the guide will help you fix the rope and cross technical sections. Likewise, your guide will also give you basic climbing training and teach you proper use of gear before climbing.
Environmental Contribution
We run eco-friendly tours and trek through Nepal. Mountains are our home, a place where we belong, and to protect it, we have been taking several measures in adoption during our trip. Likewise, we are also running a small organization that funds the education fees of children from underprivileged families. While traveling with us, you are not only traveling wisely, but also contributing immensely to the development of the mountain village.
